As Chief Strategy Officer of Liberty Global, Shane O'Neill oversees the company's strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and corporate development activities. In addition, Shane is responsible for the development of Chellomedia, Liberty Global's European based TV and Media company.
Shane joined Liberty Global in 1999 as Managing Director of Corporate Development and Mergers and Acquisitions. He was appointed to his present position in April 2002 and January 2003 respectively. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in determining and executing the strategy that has resulted in the highly-successful turnaround of UPC Broadband, which comprises Liberty Global's core European cable businesses.
From 1997 to 1999, Shane was an Executive Director in the Advisory Group for Goldman Sachs in London where he was responsible for providing advice on mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate finance, to a number of companies in the media and communications industry, including UPC. Prior to this, Shane worked at Goldman Sachs in its New York, Sydney and London offices.
Before joining Goldman Sachs, Shane spent four years at Macquarie Bank in Sydney and three years at KPMG in Dublin where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He received a Law degree from Trinity College Dublin.
As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Chellomedia, the European content division of Liberty Global, Niall Curran oversees all operations and business units. He has responsibility for the performance and development of all the business units and operating companies, which includes the basic & pay TV channels, premium and on demand TV content distributed to cable, DTH, IPTV and mobile platforms, as well as web content and interactive TV services; the Group's operations now include 27 TV channels and have grown significantly in the last 24 months.
Niall joined the company in 2000 focusing on operational restructuring during the turnaround of UPC. He took on the leadership of the media operations in 2002 and was responsible for the Group's European broadband internet product management. He was appointed COO in 2003.
From 1995 to 2000 Niall was with the Walt Disney Company leaving from the position of Executive Vice President Operations for Walt Disney Europe. Prior to that he was part of the management team responsible for the international development of Disney channels, TV investments, programme distribution and production businesses.
Angela McMullen is the Group CFO. Angela joined Chellomedia in 2001 and has been a key executive in the Group's development, including completion of all of the Group's Mergers and Acquisitions activity, including the acquisition of Canal+ Benelux and Zonemedia in 2005. Angela also oversees the Group's compliance, monthly and annual consolidation and reporting to Liberty Global Inc. Prior to joining Chellomedia in 2000, Angela has extensive experience in the entertainment industry and was previously at the Walt Disney Company and Buena Vista Home Entertainment where she served in various senior finance roles. Angela has a BA (Hons) in Economics and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Jeremy Evans, a qualified solicitor, serves as the General Counsel of Chellomedia, as well as Head Counsel Global Finance for the Liberty Global Group. Jeremy oversees all legal transactions within Chellomedia and played a key role in the Group's completion of the 50% acquisition of IPS and acquisition of Zonemedia. Prior to joining Chellomedia in 2004, he served as Senior Corporate Counsel to Liberty Global Europe from 1999, responsible for all finance and Mergers and Acquisitions activities. Jeremy Evans joined Liberty Global Europe from Clifford Chance.
